Player Piano Systems

Since the mid 90s, we have specialized in the installation, repair and maintenance of these complex systems and have built the reputation as the only full-service piano company in Middle Tennessee that is qualified to work on them. We are certified to work on all player systems including Disklavier, QRS and Piano Disc. Each of these systems requires a different and unique skillset to be able to service and install them.

Player System Installation

Interested in installing a player system for your piano but are unsure where to start? No problem! We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

There are a few player systems out there but we primarily install Piano Disc and QRS systems. Disklavier systems are factory installed by Yamaha and cannot be installed on other brands. There are many similarities between Piano Disc and QRS but there are a few key differences. We can help you decide which system to go with by reviewing all the features and technology, the process of installation and the ease of use with each one.

Player system Service

Just like the regular tuning and maintenance required to keep a piano in top playable shape, a player system also requires regular maintenance.

Over time the player system needs to be calibrated as the friction within the solenoids or action can change. Even a small difference in resistance can cause a note to play much louder than its neighbors or sometimes not play the note at all. A minimum velocity calibration is needed to even out the notes while also adjusting the volume of the piano to the lowest possible playable volume. This can easily be performed during your tuning appointment as part of your annually scheduled service.

Player system upgrade

If your existing player system is more than 5 years old, chances are there is a upgrade available for you. The latest upgrades from Disklavier, QRS and Piano Disc brings internet and app functionality. This gives you the freedom to play hundreds or thousands of songs from the convenience of your phone without having to physically change a disk. This makes a great option when hosting a party.

These upgrades are performed within a couple of hours and in the home, allowing minimal downtime and cost.
